MARCOOS PROGRESS as of JANUARY 2008
(as reported on January 18th Conference Call)
Progress
Participants: Josh Kohut, Hugh Roarty (Rutgers), Dave Ullman (URI) , Eoin Howlett (ASA), Dave Runnels (Stephens Institute), Todd Fake (UCONN)
- Rutgers FTP Site - ASCII file that is aggregated from a variety of Rutgers sites (subset of the what is on the Opendap server) is available hourly - 6km grid.
- John Wilkin has opendap server for long range Macoora wide (Cape Hatteras to Cape Cod) - 8km grid.
- Todd is storing all data in SQL database, ASCII files are also stored, BI Sound available in ASCII, not Western LI Sound.
- STPS goes into the SQL database (BI Sound, Western LI Sound, and NY Bight)
- Rutgers has a portal and node running (in parallel to Scripps) that is collecting all of the radials and also processing vectors.
- Al Cope and Lou Bowers set WRF model and successfully dispalyed output on AWIPS.
- Action Items
- Josh will send email with FTP site of where ASCII Rutgers Codar data is available
- General agreement that being able to access all Codar (and STPS) data via OPeNDAP is a good idea and will allow EDS and the modelers to easily access data. For the moment (ands maybe longer!), we will use the COOL site as a template on how to publish codar data via opendap. link to COOL site
- Josh will check with John to see if Todd can get the processing tools that they use so UCONN can implement.
